Description

In Element by Element we will focus on a single spot on the Periodic Table and find out what makes that atom tick. We'll look at Carbon, the backbone of life. From sugars to plastic, Carbon is certainly king. The most abundant atom in the universe is Hydrogen. Paired with Oxygen, it can be both water and fire, but paired with Nitrogen, it will group to form the muscles in our body! We will look at Helium and the rest of the noble gases, named that because they don't bind with other elements. They stand alone, single and solitary. These and other elements, such as Iron, Copper, Potassium and Nitrogen, are placed at the center of each session. We will separate them, combine them, shake them up, set them on fire, and even freeze them! In short, we will make some fun with the elements!

Children are encouraged to bring a snack! Popcorn, water, and lemonade will also be provided. Children staying for all day camp should bring a bagged lunch.
